Who is Marc Goldman?
Marc Goldman compares the dawn of the World Wide Web in the 1990′s to the Wild West of the 19th century. Back then, the Internet was largely uncharted territory. The technology was new and sometimes hostile. There were no guidebooks or how-to manuals. Those who started an Internet businesses were largely on their own, learning by trial and error. It was much like trying to play a game where the rules change constantly and new ones are added every single day. Some of the Internet’s earliest businessmen have since come to be highly regarded as pioneers for forging the way. Marc Goldman is one such pioneer.
Like building a frontier town, Goldman started from scratch and acquired the necessary tools and support along the way. Goldman’s frontier: Goldbar Enterprises. His mission was to help Internet business owners do what they do best: sell products on the Internet. Goldman understood that starting up an Internet business wasn’t always as simple as some declared it to be. True, he admits that the Internet helped to level the playing field for businesses. It allowed for small mom-and-pop ventures and cottage industries to compete on the same level as multi-million dollar corporations.
But Goldman also knew that running an e-business involved a great deal of technology, and that technology changed rapidly. While a business might be good at selling, it may be less adept at the technical side of e-commerce. Many small e-business owners find themselves drowning in technical issues, affording them little time to devote to promoting their actual product. Goldman’s company produces software that helps the small e-business owner manage their sites, from web-hosting, to managing sales, tracking orders, setting up affiliate programs, advertising, and many other web-business technical needs.
Goldman is also highly regarded as an expert on the subject of joint ventures. Goldman, in a joint venture with his own partner Terry Goldman, has co-authored a book entitled Joint Venture Secrets Revealed. The Goldmans also have a course and numerous shorter publications based on the book. In fact, Marc Goldman is a highly sought-after speaker and teacher on the subject of joint ventures.
Goldman admits that in the early stages of his Internet ventures he regularly spent over 100 hours per week working. He claims to have cut back to a mere 60 these days. However, he remains passionate about helping small to mid-size businesses realize their potential for profit.
